Free VC MyTEAM Tips and Advice

If you're diving into NBA 2K24's MyTEAM mode, you're probably already aware that Virtual Currency (VC) is essential for building your dream roster. Whether you're looking to snag those coveted player packs or upgrade your players, VC is the currency of choice. But how do you get your hands on enough of it without breaking the bank? Let me share some friendly tips and tricks to maximize your VC earnings!

Grind in MyCareer

One of the most straightforward ways to earn VC is by playing in MyCareer. Each game you play can net you a decent amount of VC, especially if you perform well. Here’s a quick strategy to optimize your earnings:

1. Play Short Quarters: Set your game to 5-minute quarters. This allows you to finish games faster while still earning a solid amount of VC.

2. Choose the Right Difficulty: Play on Semi-Pro or Rookie difficulty. This way, you can build a lead and simulate out of games once you're ahead by 25 points. Doing this can earn you around 900-1,000 VC in just about 15 minutes of gameplay.

3. Focus on Endorsements: As you progress, you’ll unlock endorsements that can provide significant VC bonuses. Completing objectives tied to these endorsements is a great way to boost your earnings.

Complete Quests

Quests are back in MyCareer, and they can be a goldmine for VC. These side quests, which are separate from the main storyline, often reward you with VC upon completion. Keep an eye out for quests like the Race of the Week, and don’t forget to chat with NPCs around The City for additional opportunities. Engaging with these characters can lead to new quests and rewards that contribute to your VC stash.

Simulate Games

If you’re short on time or just want to chill, consider using Simcast Live. You can watch the game play out and still earn VC without having to actively participate. Just remember that your VC earnings will depend on your team's performance during the simulated game.

Take Advantage of Free VC Opportunities

Don’t overlook the occasional free VC offers that pop up in the game. For instance, when you first load up MyTEAM, you might be eligible for a starter pack that includes VC. Make sure to check your unopened packs regularly; sometimes there are hidden gems waiting for you to claim them.

Engage with 2KTV

Tuning into 2KTV can also earn you some VC. Answering questions and participating in the show can provide small VC rewards. It’s a fun way to stay engaged with the game and earn a little extra currency while you’re at it.

Earning VC in NBA 2K24 MyTEAM doesn’t have to be a grind. By strategically playing MyCareer, completing quests, and taking advantage of free opportunities, you can build your VC reserves without spending real money. So gear up, hit the courts, and start racking up that VC—your ultimate team awaits!

Here are some of the best quests to complete for earning VC quickly in NBA 2K24:

Side Quests

- Complete side quests that are not tied to the main MyCareer storyline. These quests can yield VC rewards upon completion. Look out for quests like the Race of the Week and performance-based objectives.

- Talk to NPCs around The City and the game arena, like Hendrixx Cobb and fellow NBA players. Interacting with characters marked with a diamond icon can unlock new quests that reward VC

Endorsements

- Unlock endorsements to earn special VC bonuses. The first endorsement is a shoe deal chosen at the start of MyCareer. Complete the specific objectives tied to each endorsement to get the VC bonus.

- Obtain NBA, local, pop culture, and business fans* to unlock more endorsements. Fans can be earned by playing well in games, answering press conference questions, and completing quests.

Missions

- Check which main, side, and season missions are available that can reward VC. Many are quite easy and some are even daily missions.

Focus on completing side quests, talking to marked NPCs, fulfilling endorsement objectives, and checking the mission list regularly to maximize your VC earnings through quests in NBA 2K24 MyCareer. The VC rewards can add up quickly by engaging with these various quest types.

I was excited to dive into NBA 2K24, especially its MyTEAM mode, which has become my go-to over the years. After spending countless hours with the game, I’m here to share my thoughts on what makes MyTEAM in 2K24 a unique experience, along with some of the bumps along the way.

Getting Started with MyTEAM

First off, the onboarding experience in MyTEAM is a breath of fresh air. If you’re new to the mode, the tutorial does a fantastic job of guiding you through the various features, ensuring you’re not left in the dark. You start by selecting a starter kit, which gives you a roster to kick things off. I went with the Utah Jazz, naturally, and it felt great to see familiar faces like Gordon Hayward (even if he’s not in his prime).

The gem color system for cards is still in play, with everything from gold to galaxy opal, and it’s satisfying to see your collection grow as you complete challenges and earn rewards. This year, the Player Market replaces the auction house, allowing you to buy cards at fixed prices. While this change has its pros and cons, it certainly makes it easier to snag new players without the hassle of bidding wars. However, I can’t help but miss the thrill of the auction house where you could sometimes score a great deal.

Gameplay Improvements

Now, let’s talk about the gameplay, which is where NBA 2K24 shines. The introduction of the ProPLAY system has made the on-court action feel more fluid and realistic. Gone are the days of players feeling “floaty” or stuck in canned animations. Instead, you’ll see players move and react more like their real-life counterparts. I’ve found shooting to be more forgiving this year, which is a relief, especially when you’re trying to nail those clutch shots in tight games.

That said, while the gameplay is improved, it’s not a complete overhaul from 2K23. The differences might not be noticeable to everyone, but for someone who’s played the series for years, it’s refreshing to see some of the old issues addressed. The AI seems smarter, particularly in how they defend cuts, making for a more challenging experience.

The Grind and Monetization

One of the biggest talking points about MyTEAM this year is the grind. If you’re a player who loves to put in the hours, you’ll find plenty to do. However, some have pointed out that it can feel like a second job at times, especially when trying to earn enough MT (the in-game currency) to build a competitive team. The balance between free-to-play and pay-to-win is still a hot topic. While you can earn cards and MT through gameplay, the temptation to purchase VC (the premium currency) is always lurking.

Many players have expressed mixed feelings about the monetization strategies in 2K24. The season pass has been criticized for being a bit too aggressive, and while I understand the need for developers to monetize their games, it can feel overwhelming at times. Still, if you’re willing to put in the time, you can enjoy a lot of content without spending a dime.

NBA 2K24’s MyTEAM mode is a solid addition to the franchise. It’s fun, engaging, and offers a lot of content for both new and returning players. The gameplay improvements make it enjoyable, and while there are some concerns about monetization and the grind, the experience overall is rewarding. Whether you’re a casual player or someone who’s ready to dive deep into the card-collecting world, there’s something here for everyone.

So, if you’re on the fence about picking up NBA 2K24, I’d say give it a shot—especially if you enjoyed previous entries in the series. Just be prepared for a bit of a grind and the occasional temptation to open your wallet!
